Brief Introduction of the Department
Brief profile of the department: The department of Physics, established in 2015,seeks to encourage and enhance the participation of women in one of the major streams of the natural sciences. The department offers a two-year M.Sc. programme in Physics with specialization for post-graduation in Electronics and Condensed Matter Physics. Specializations in Atomic and Molecular Physics and X-ray Crystallography are likely to be introduced soon. The department also offers a wide range of elective courses.
The Department seeks to inculcate a spirit of curiosity and enquiry in its students about the Natural world and to train them well in both theoretical and experimental aspects of the physical sciences. To this end it has started offering a Ph.D. programme in Physics from 2018.
