Department of Bengali

Brief Introduction of the Department

Department of Bengali, DHWU has received amazing feedback from their students since inception. The department which aims to spread higher education in peripheral areas, feels that merely following an academic syllabus and delivering academic lectures won't work out until and unless sensitization in social & ethical issues is not ensured. The department encourages dialogue between teachers and students to understand the background and need of their students and design academic and other activities accordingly to meet the requirements of the students and enable them to overcome hurdles.

The Department expresses its gratitude to Professor Uday Kumar Chakrabarty, renowned Linguist of Bengali Language & former Professor Jadavpur University for his regular participation in the Departmental Teaching-Learning. The Department is also thankful to other renowned academicians for their kind consent to be members of Board of Studies, Board of Research Studies and other programmes organized by the Department.
